Home Health Aide Training and Certifications
Are you looking to become a home health care aide or want to continue your education and further your home health care knowledge? Alpha Home Health Agency offers training programs and certification for the community and current professionals so they can start, or continue their journey with home health care.
We offer different certifications, such as the medication certification, where an individual gets certified in how to pass medicine safely and correctly, how to give insulin, how to give tube feeds, and more, so that they can provide services to an individual with developmental delays and be able to do so safely.
Anyone can attend the course and complete it, and it will provide the same certification, whether they're a home health aide already or an individual from the community seeking further education.
Hybrid Home Health Aide Courses
Our courses are both in-person and online. Most of the courses can be taken online, but they do require some in-person skill sessions.
Current Course Offerings
American Heart Association BLS
The Healthcare BLS and AED course is meant for healthcare professionals who perform CPR/BLS in a medical setting. This includes doctors, nurses, dentists, physical therapists, EMTs, paramedics, & more. In this course, you’ll learn how to perform CPR, how to use an AED, skills for treating choking and shock victims, bag valve mask use for one and two rescuers, and what to do in an opioid overdose situation. Your certificate is valid for 2 years.
American Heart Association Heart-Saver CPR AED and First Aid
The Standard CPR, AED, & First Aid course is a general workplace course for those who need CPR certification that also includes first aid for their job or to meet OSHA requirements. This commonly includes daycare providers, teachers, coaches, nannies, babysitters, bus drivers, & more. In this course, you’ll learn how to perform CPR, how to use an AED, skills for treating choking and shock victims, and a variety of first aid skills. Your certificate is valid for 2 years.
Home Health Aide Course
Demand for home health services is growing like never before, but finding certified, high-quality home health aides to support that growth is a monumental—and expensive—challenge. This course is approximately 80 hours of education covering over 24 chapters of information which will provide a well-rounded education and provides clinical hours in our skills lab onsite. Some topics covered in the course include: HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, homemaking skills, personal care service skills, meal preparation and planning, infection control, Cultural Diversity, Skills needed, types of illness, and how to best handle the patient.
STNA Training Program
STNAs are individuals that assist individuals with healthcare needs and ADLs. The STNA provides bedside care, including basic nursing procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. You will receive complete training that will allow you to take the state test for nursing assistant.
